Privacy Notice

Last updated 15 June 2026

The short version

We keep privacy simple. Baby Care Track only stores what it needs to work, we never sell your data, and there are no ads or third-party trackers.

Maria Pastor Paz runs Baby Care Track and is the data controller for the information described here — meaning she decides what’s collected and how it’s used. You can reach us at hi@babycaretrack.com.

What we store

Your account: your name and email address, so we can identify you and your household. When you sign in with Apple or Google we receive these from them; when you sign in by email, you give us your email address directly.

Signing in by email: when you ask for an email sign-in, we briefly store a one-time code and link (in a scrambled form) so we can check it, along with the email it was sent to. These expire after about 10 minutes.

What you log: feeds, nappy changes, their times, who in the household recorded each one, your household’s name, and your settings (feed interval, reminder timing, home timezone).

Reminders: if you turn them on, a push token for your device so we can send the “feed due soon” nudge and let your household know about each other’s activity.

Technical data: like any web service, our hosting provider automatically processes basic technical information (such as your IP address, device or browser type, and timestamps) to deliver the app, keep it secure and diagnose problems. We don’t use this to build a profile of you.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

To provide the app you’ve asked for — signing you in, showing your information and keeping it in sync with your household. Legal basis: performing our agreement with you / taking steps at your request.

To send reminders and partner-activity nudges, only if you switch them on. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time by turning reminders off.

To keep the app working, secure and free from misuse. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a safe, reliable service.

We don’t use your data for advertising or profiling, we won’t send you marketing, and there’s no automated decision-making that affects you.

Information that can relate to health

Some of what you log — feeds and nappy changes — can say something about your child’s health. Where that’s the case, we treat it with extra care and use it only to provide the tracking you’ve asked for.

By choosing to enter this information, you’re explicitly asking us (and giving your consent) to store and sync it for that purpose. You can delete it, or stop, at any time.

Cookies and storage on your device

We use a small number of strictly necessary cookies and similar storage — to keep you signed in (a secure session token), remember your preferences, and let the app work offline by caching your recent data on your device.

These are essential to the app and aren’t used for advertising or tracking, so there’s nothing extra to consent to. Clearing your browser storage or signing out removes the on-device copy.

Who can see it

The members of your household — that’s the whole point of sharing.

A few service providers act for us, processing data on our behalf to make the app work: Apple and Google (sign-in), Resend (sending sign-in emails), Cloudflare (hosting, database and storage), Expo (app updates and notification delivery), and your device’s push service (reminders). Each has its own privacy policy.

These providers may store or process data in countries outside where you live; where that happens, it’s done under the safeguards those providers offer (such as standard contractual clauses). We don’t share your data with anyone else, and we never sell it.

Keeping it safe

Your data is stored in a database on Cloudflare, your session is protected with signed tokens, and sensitive items like sign-in codes and device refresh tokens are kept only in a hashed form. We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no online service can be 100% secure.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account and household are active. Sign-in codes and links expire within about 10 minutes, and basic technical logs are kept only for a short period to run and secure the service.

When you delete entries they’re removed. Deleting your account removes your data, and a household with no members left is deleted along with everything logged in it. You can do all of this from the Account screen.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you have rights over your data: to access it, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how it’s used, ask for a copy to take elsewhere, and withdraw any consent (such as for reminders).

You can do most of this right in the app — edit or delete entries, turn reminders off, leave a household, sign out or delete your account. For anything else, email hi@babycaretrack.com and we’ll help.

If you’re ever unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to your local data protection authority.

About your baby’s data

Any details about your baby are entered by you, as the person with parental responsibility, on their behalf and for your own use. The app is intended for parents and carers — it isn’t aimed at children as users.

Changes

If we update this notice we’ll change the date above. Questions about your privacy? Email hi@babycaretrack.com.
